Priyanka Chopra On Male Actors Who “Have Diva Moments Or Arrive Hours Late”

Priyanka Chopra has proved on a number of events lately that she is just not afraid to name a spade a spade. The actress, in her current interviews, has spoken about points corresponding to equal pay, gender disparity, bullying in Bollywood, marriage, and motherhood. In an identical vein, the actress in a brand new interview withThe Zoe Report, has spoken about working with actors who had “diva moments” on set. The Citadel star made the assertion when requested about her expertise on the units of Love Again. She stated, “It’s so good to work with actors that come in, know their lines, and are not divas.” When requested if she had been on the receiving finish of such diva behaviour, she added, “Oh, yeah. I can’t tell you who. But I’ve had co-stars that stopped filming for three hours because they need stuff explained [to them] on a production day — not the night before — while the crew is standing around. Or have diva moments or arrive hours late while everyone’s waiting around. I’ve had that happen with a lot of male actors my whole life.”

In the identical interview, the actress additionally spoke of an incident that pressured her to stroll out of a Bollywood film after capturing for it for 2 days. Explaining that the incident occurred in 2002-03, when she had nearly begun her profession, Priyanka Chopra shared {that a} director stated that he wished to see her in underwear in a scene. “This may have been 2002 or ’03…I’m undercover, I’m seducing the guy — obviously that’s what girls do when they’re undercover. But I’m seducing the guy and you have to take off one piece of clothing [at a time]. I wanted to layer up. The filmmaker was like, ‘No, I need to see her underwear. Otherwise, why is anybody coming to watch this movie?’” she stated concerning the incident.

Adding that it was a “dehumanising moment,” Priyanka Chopra defined, “He didn’t say it to me. He said it to the stylist in front of me. It was such a dehumanizing moment. It was a feeling of, ‘I’m nothing else outside of how I can be used, my art is not important, what I contribute is not important… I just couldn’t look at him every day.” She walked out of the film and at her father’s insistence paid again the manufacturing for what they’d spent.

Priyanka Chopra’s pretty startling revelations about Bollywood started in March when she advised Dax Shepard on his podcast that her transfer to Hollywood was prompted by the truth that she was “being pushed into a corner in Bollywood” and that she had “beef with folks” which affected her work.
